What you will see
Malvarrosa is the northernmost beach in the municipality of València: it runs from the border with Alboraya to Acequia de la Cadena street. It measures 1,000 metres long and 135 metres average width, with fine sand and a seafront promenade running alongside it.
On the sand you will find:
- 1 first-aid post and 2 lifeguard towers
- One advanced life support ambulance and one basic life support ambulance
- 5 public toilets, 3 of them adapted
- 10 double showers, 10 foot-rinse stations and 4 drinking fountains
- Sunbed rental and sailing school
- Cycle lane, cycle parking, benches and public telephone
For people with reduced mobility, the accessible point is located opposite lifeguard post number 1, with an adapted walkway, buoy markers and a bathing assistance programme. Those with visual impairment have signalling strips, tactile guidance lines from the bus stop to the walkway and leaflets in Braille. The beach holds UNE 170001 accessibility certification, the Q Tourism Quality mark (UNE 187001), Qualitur and the Ecoplayas award.
Cost
It is free. You only pay for sunbed rental, though the council does not publish the rates.
Opening hours
The beach has no published access hours; what changes with the season is lifeguard cover. In 2026 the bathing season with lifeguards ran from 1 June to 15 September, 10:00–20:00. Outside those dates the council provides cover on certain days, which it publishes in its beach calendar, so check it if you plan to swim in autumn or spring.
How to get there
The council does not detail transport lines in its information sheet. It mentions unmarked car parking with adapted spaces, the cycle lane with cycle parking and a bus stop connected to the accessible point by guidance lines.
Worth visiting if…
…you want to learn sailing within the city, you are cycling and need to leave your bike by the promenade, or someone in your group needs a walkway and bathing assistance in summer.
