What you will see

Heading south along the coast from Malvarrosa, when you cross Calle Acequia de la Cadena you enter El Cabanyal, which extends to the port darsena. The beach is approximately 1,200 metres long and averages 135 metres wide. The city council describes it as an urban beach busy not only in summer but throughout the year.

Facilities

Lifeguard cover is provided from 3 rescue posts and 3 towers, supported by an SVA ambulance and an SVB ambulance. For hygiene, there are 15 public toilets (6 accessible), 13 double showers, 13 foot-wash stations and 4 drinking-water fountains. The list is completed by sun-lounger hire, a public telephone, benches, a bicycle lane and bicycle parking.

Accessibility and certifications

The accessible bathing point is in front of rescue post no. 2. It holds the UNE 170001 accessibility standard, the UNE 187001 (Q Tourism Quality mark), the Qualitur seal and the Ecoplayas award.

Cost

It is free. You only pay for sun-lounger hire, for which the city council does not publish a tariff.

Hours

There is no access time: lifeguard cover varies by season. In summer 2026 there was daily lifeguard cover from 1 June to 15 September, from 10:00 to 20:00 (at Cabanyal 3 post from 09:00). For the rest of the year there are lifeguards on specific days only, listed in the municipal beach calendar.

How to get there

The municipal record does not include bus or tram routes. What is shown is unmarked car parking with spaces reserved for people with disabilities, and a bicycle lane.

Worth visiting if…

…you are in a large group and value having many toilets and showers nearby, or prefer a beach with three rescue points spread across the stretch.
