What you will see
Palosanto is a flamenco tablao in the maritime quarter, facing the Mercado del Cabanyal and about 200 metres from the beach. The show lasts one hour and covers different palos, ranging from the most dramatic—such as soleá or seguiriya—to the most festive, such as alegrías, with room for improvisation. It blends traditional flamenco with more contemporary approaches.
Artistic direction is by Verónica Pulido, a Valencian dancer trained at the Valencia Dance Conservatory who since 2007 has worked on choreographed productions by Javier Latorre and collaborated on Flamenco Hoy, the film by Carlos Saura. The performers vary by day: the tablao publishes its weekly programme on its ticket page.
Cost
On the tablao's website, each show costs €21.00. For dinner or drinks afterwards, the tablao refers you to venues in the neighbourhood.

Worth going if…
…you want to see live flamenco without going into the city centre, especially if you are already in the Cabanyal or at the beach. As the show ends early, it leaves the rest of your evening free for dinner in the neighbourhood.
