What you will see

The Jardín del Turia occupies the old riverbed: 123.48 hectares and almost 10 kilometres of green space that runs through the city and is used by millions of people each year. The council divides it into numbered sections, each with its own character:

  • Sections 1 to 3: section 1 runs from the Pont Nou d'Octubre to the Casa del Agua (Water House), section 2 starts at that Casa del Agua, built over the old Rovella weir, and section 3 extends to the Pont d'Ademuz or Pont de les Glòries Valencianes.
  • Section 7: from the Pont de la Trinidad to the Pont del Real; part of the old municipal nursery once stood here.
  • Section 8: created from civic campaigns for Arbour Day.
  • Section 9: has a play area with a climbing net of three pyramids. In these sections is the Pont de les Flors (Flower Bridge), by Santiago Calatrava, opened in 2002: it measures 156 metres long and 24 metres wide, and its planter-bearing arches hold 3,570 pots.
  • Sections 10 and 11: between the Pont de les Flors and the Pont del Ángel Custodio.
  • Section 12: Parque Gulliver.
  • Sections 13 to 16: a broad stretch extending to the suburban railway crossing.

Entry is free.

Opening hours

The garden does not close: you can enter any day at any time. Facilities inside, such as Parque Gulliver, have their own opening hours.

How to get there

It has no single address; each section opens on to different streets. For example, sections 1 to 3 are between Paseo de la Pechina and Avenidas Manuel de Falla and Tirso de Molina; sections 7 to 9, between Calles Pintor López and San Pío V and Paseos de la Ciudadela and de la Alameda; and sections 13 to 16, between Calles Alcalde Reig and Professor López Piñero, Autopista del Saler and Paseo de la Alameda.

Worth visiting if…

…you want to move around València on foot or by bike without traffic, you are looking for somewhere to run or play with children, or you want to link several visits: the riverbed connects areas as varied as the Casa del Agua, the Pont de les Flors and Parque Gulliver.
